Little Rock Marathon / Half / 10k / 5k

Our 2019 destination race is the Little Rock Marathon. The dates are already set and we'll be running on the weekend of 2 - 3 March 2019. Stay tuned because we will provide regular updates on this race. We're told that registration will be open soon and we're anxiously awaiting an announcement on the theme for the race so we can design a great race shirt and start preparing our race day apparel.

This marathon which has long been known for its epic bling continued the tradition with its 2018 finisher medal. The medal was 8.5 inches tall and weighed 2.5 pounds. The medal, which featured a glittering, emerald-eyed dragon guarding a castle with a golden goblet ensnared in its tail might give away the medieval theme of the race. Each year, the race features a different theme and that theme is reflected in everything from the décor at the Expo, race course, and post-race areas to the always huge finisher’s medal and all official merchandise.

With an 8-hour finisher’s time limit, it was named one of Runner’s World’s ten great marathons for first timers. It has been described as a race with personality, loads of southern hospitality, tons of caring volunteers, and a running tour through the scenic streets of the state’s capital city. Some of the unique features of the race include the couch potato mile and the Lipstick Stop (so you can look good in your finish photo).

Bill Rogers once said “any marathon worth its salt has a few hills. [this race] is a little salty”. Although the course has changed since Bill said that, you can still count on climbing 1,287 feet during the marathon.
