Come out and join us for a run along the BEAUTIFUL Ream Wilson Trail. The run has shade, water, and hills. If that isn't enough for you, there is a Starbucks at the end! All paces and distances are always welcome!
Long read but please take a few minutes to do so.
Please remember that we will not have coolers at our group run Saturday so bring your own hydration. A couple of other items worth highlighting are:
1. Please wear a face cover before and after our run. As a runner, it's also a very good idea to carry a face cover with you in case you need to stop at a business on your route for a bathroom or to purchase hydration.
2. During the group run, please keep it to small groups (no more than four people) and try to keep it to people that you have been running with already.
Our ability to run together depends on how safely we can run as a group. Here are the remainder of the guidelines that we have established for safe group runs.
· Anyone at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should consult their physician before participating (age over 65, asthma, diabetes, serious heart conditions, immunocompromised, etc.)
· Consider waiting to return to group runs if someone in your household is at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19
· Do not participate if you are feeling sick, have a fever, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days
· Do not engage in traditional physical contact at group runs (hugs, high fives, etc.)
· Do not engage in close group pictures/selfies
· Bring your own hydration, nutrition, and post-run drinks; we don’t recommend using public fountains and will not have coolers along the route or at the finish
· Maintain social distancing practices at the circle, during your run, and at any stops
· Run single file when passing others on your running route
· Always be kind to others that you encounter on your run
· Do not gather in a large group after your run; smaller groups for a short period while maintaining social distance is fine but remain cognizant of others that may be in the area as well
· If you test positive for COVID-19 and have attended a group run in the past 14 days, please notify Carla, Leigh, Dave, or Dale. Do not participate in future group gatherings until you are recovered from COVID-19 and have received approval from your doctor. Club leadership will maintain the confidentiality of members testing positive but will cancel group runs for 14 days.
· After the circle, Dave will take individual photos of people as they are ready to begin their run. This will help keep groups of runners small and ensure some separation during the run. We’ll continue to do “Brady Bunch” style group photos until we are back to normal group runs. While we may want to take a large group photo, we need to remember that there will likely be other areas where groups are still not allowed and we want to maintain sensitivity to that and avoid any potential misperceptions.
